A west Belfast priest has told his parishioners and bishop that he is gay and is taking time off from sacramental duties to consider his future.

If a priest rapes a child the bishops move them around to somewhere else where they can **** other children.

But if a priest has a drink in a gay pub all of a sudden there's a problem!

what do they expect when the culture was once "oh oh our son is gay, better ship him off to the priesthood"

Eh no, it would have been ship that son off to England or shun him.

Parents were quite proud of sending many of their sons into the priesthood. Daughters were sent off to a nunnery. It was a strong tradition in many parishes. There's be no way they'd send some shameful thing to the priesthood.

I have to admit though that back then, if you were gay and terrified of people finding out, the priesthood would have been an attractive option. Gain the respect of your family and parish, and permanently avoid the issue of why you're not married/never with girls.
