Wednesday 5th: Leo O’Kelly will be Paul Clarke’s special guest on this week’s ICON show. 9-11PM.

    Thursday 6th:

This week’s Girlie Hour features: Maria Doyle Kennedy, who will be coming in to talk about Sirens – the new 18 song anthology that she put together. 7-8PM

Album Archive with Rob Taylor features: Smile - The Beach Boys

So for the first time, the Album Archive is featuring an album that was never released. The Beach Boys "Smile" is THE greatest lost album by anyone anywhere. Initially conceived by Brian Wilson as the follow-up to 1966's Pet Sounds, Smile was due to hit the shops in January 1967. Except there was a wee problem; the rest of the band hated it, they couldn't sing over half the tracks, Brian was out of his nut on drugs, and he was convinced that certain pieces of the music angered evil spirits. So he shelved it and settled down to a good 15 years of drink, drugs and obesity.

Anyway, with the aid of a Beach Boys boxset or two, and a few bootlegs, Phantom FM is proud to bring you the story of Smile on this Thursday's album archive. This is the album that Good Vibrations, Heroes and Villains, Surf's Up, Vega-Tables and Cabin Essence should've appeared on. You'll hear various versions of the Smile tracks, the odd live outing, and....Oh hell, just listen to it. 8pm on Thursday

Friday 7th: Cathal will be joined by The Tycho Brahe on Friday’s Heavy Traffic. 4-7PM. He will also be featuring the album: “Phrenology” by The Roots.
