Second Concert Added: June 27th 2003

The following Statement has been issued by MCD following consultation with and the agreement of Eminem’s representative, Ticketmaster Ireland & the Garda Siochana regarding ticket sales for the Eminem concerts on Thursday 26th June & now an extra date on Friday 27th June 2003 at Punchestown Racecourse:

In the interest of public safety and well being of fans, tickets for both concerts, which are restricted to 4 per person, go on sale immediately – 8 am today, Friday 7th February 2003.

MCD have taken this decision to bring forward the on-sale date by 24 hours in the interest of public safety and well being of fans for the following reasons:

A) The phenomenal public reaction to the concert announcement and the overwhelming success of the hit movie ‘8 Mile’ since its release. Despite securing an extra concert date on 27th June 2003, the total number of tickets available for the concerts will not meet the phenomenal ticket demand.

Due to current inclement weather conditions being experienced across the country, it would be inappropriate and unsafe to have thousands of fans queuing outside overnight.

Please note the following ticket and event information:
1. Tickets are restricted to 4 per person/transaction
2. Persons under 18 must be accompanied to event by a parent or guardian
3. ID is required to gain admission to event
4. Event is subject to licence

i just bought 2 tickets for the concert,they arent sold out either. theres over a hundred left in jervis centre ticketmaster...for some reason people think its sold out,on the net it is,in the stores it isnt. mwhahahah suckerrrrrrrrrrrrs

can i just say thank you hussey for starting this thread! it was the last thing i saw before boards.ie *fainted* this morning and i was able to get the tickets id been trying for (since my dad woke me up at 7.30 to get them). i completely forgot i could book over the net, and you've made my little brother very happy (and my dad's bank a/c a good deal emptier-232 euro's in total for 4 tickets.....wow!)

Just to let everyone know. Tickets are **still** available for this concert. Go to your local ticketmaster outlets to get em if you want. God knows why MCD run around shouting they sold out in less than 6 hours.

But i was getting tickets for something else at Ticketmaster in Stevens Green yesterday and they had Hand Written Signs all over the booth saying tickets are still available.

There are still tickets availible online via ticketmaster, even though the link states it has sold out.

MCD probably announced it "sold out in six hours" to compare itself to the relitively short amount of time it took for the Eminem shows to sell out in the UK. It was expected to sell out in any case, and they wanted that wow factor. Other than that, it seems sort of unusual.

It seems like people are using this concert to their own advantage. Already loads of people are selling tickets for €100+ in trade newspapers such as the Buy and Sell.
