Stuttering on SkyOne

Does anyone notice any stuttering on certain programmes on Sky One? It happens to me during what seems to be just new programmes such as Harry Enfields Brand Spanking New Show , Ibiza Uncovered II, Jumpers for Goalposts, Baddiels Syndrome, etc. It doesnt seem to happen on older made progs. I figure it's coz the new progs are made digitally and are sending more info than normal. Does this mean my Digibox (Pace 2500) is faulty? Or does this happen everyone? Please enlighten me! Or maybe my dish is off a wee bit. I haven't noticed on any other channels but then I don't watch too many!

Hi.
I have had exactly the same problem recently on my pace 2500.I occasionally get trouble around 10 o clock on sky 1.I also got it on nick replay last night at ten.Id say its a fault with Astra.

Try checking the signal quality in the services menu if its below 40% that may be the problem. Also did you notice if it was windy or raining outside when the problem occured?

My signal quality has been down a good bit after heavy gusts and rain last week.Ill get the ladder and twitch it a bit and hopefully it will work. But surely the weather dosent explain why it usually only happens around 10,even on calm nights?

My signal strength is OK nearly filling the scale. I set the dish myself and have good signal. I see I'm not the only one. I never considered the fact that it only happens after 10pm. It also happens to be the time that most of their new comedies are on. Does it happen on startrek and stuff like that too? I still think it is coz of the new progs being recorded digitally and thus neading more bandwidth to beam which Pace cant handle. Probably wrong but I do wish I had a silver Panny.

Another explanation might be over compression on Sky's part, this badly affected Tara in the early days but I thought they had it sorted. Sky uses variable compression across its whole network so perhaps theres a lot of high data programming after ten. just a wild theory!

Quite possibly the answer Tony. Sounds logical enough! So
it also happens during day on SJRaphael? I dont watch daytime telly. Am kinda glad am not the only one!

Gopher, i woulda taken a Panny but our supplier only stocks Pace although we will start ordering Panasonic and Grundig too from another supplier. Out of curiousity, Tony (seeing as you seem to own a lekky shop), does Pannies come with the same dishes as Pace (ie Triax)?

Hi, I've never stocked panasonics so I'm afraid i dont have the answer, I do know that the dishes that come with Grundigs are definitely an inferior make (the triax is the best of a bad bunch) as I'v been called out to replace a few of these when Dixons gave up on the customer. The triax looks rolls royce compared to grundig dishes.

God & I thought that the Triax dishes were bad!! I assume Armstrong is ur supplier like us. Electroplus supply the Grundigs & Pannies.

Pace receivers come with Triax dishes which all have Grundig LNBs so it's not bad. Although i do know that Cambridge LNBs also fit on Triax dishes

Still haven't figured if my Sky1 is bad coz of dodgybox, LNB or just transmissions. Funny though that not everyone notices these stutters (dunno the proper name for this)
