In an effort to gloss over their failure to introduce competition to the Irish broadband market, the ODTR has issued a new document http://www.odtr.ie/docs/odtr0159.doc waffling on about 'alternative broadband technologies'. I'm of the belief they sit around reading their "internet in 2020" papers from Gartner, and then decide to tease us by letting us know about all these great technologies we'll have to emigrate to see. Could we ask the nice people in the ODTR (and they do seem to be 'nice' and no fools technically) spend a little less effort on 45 page research papers and a bit more time on the existing broadband mechanisms.
