What is the most disgusting horror film youve ever seen. I think that a lot of the early eighties cheap hack and slash films are just plain disgusting. The other night some friends got I Spit On Your Grave Out. I remembered reading about it in Empire and they had said it was crap so I didnt bother watching it myself but my friends thought it was great. Well they thought Fight club was **** so it shows what they know. But anyway what film has disgusted you the most.

    Hmm...

I'd say the Lucio Fulci stuff has to take the cake.
But it's incredibly hard to get hold of.

I've currently 'The Beyond' on order for months.
If that ever comes in, I'm going to order 'House By The Cemetary'.

I'm sure many of you have seen 'Zombie Flesh Eaters'?

But funny this should come up, seeing as I just got through watching 'City Of The Living Dead' for the second time. If you want disgusting ****, this films is definetly for you! There's a scene where some girl gets a handfull of worms and tomb rot shoved into her face!!! Or another part where this other girl's eyes starts to bleed, then she starts foaming at the mouth, and coughing up blood, and this goes on into a rather ****ed up long sequence of her vomiting up her own organs...

    Definetly the prize, I'd think.

    Videodrome, I think

It stars James Woods, and it was quite freaky watching it while well stoned

cannibal holocaust.. illegal in ireland i think

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 418 ✭✭Zaphod B

Aye Cannibal Holocaust would have to take the prize for me so far (I'm looking for worse though) - strangely though the bit that disturbed me the most wasn't the human cannibalism but the scene where they hack the turtle apart in graphic detail but it just refuses to die. And I'm not even a vegetarian :D
Really though, see Cannibal Holocaust if u can, it really is more than just a horror movie and when the music plays over some scenes it's actually very moving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,958 ✭✭✭Chad ghostal

Yup cannibal holocaust must take the cake...not quite a horror film, more horrific..
also braindead(peter jackson) is seriously gory..blood everywhere and its legal..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,683 ✭✭✭daveg

I must give cannibal holocaust a view.

I'd vote day of the dead (the bit where the tear you man in half). Vombie flesh eaters as well.

Ok I know it's not a film but Executions,a documentary really did my head in.I was ok until the last clip(an enemy soldier captured in Bosnia/Croatia was shot in the head, half his face dissapeared but he was still alive for some time until he was shot several more times).
That clip gave me many sleepless nights, its the kinda stuff they dont show on the news.

Ok I know it's not a film but Executions

I've seen a few of these documentary's. Faces of death and banned from TV (when I was in the US). I found then really sick and left me feeling really empty. Many clips of executions/accidents/murders ect ect...

I hear Ichii The Killer is very gory, make sure you get an uncut version if you decide to track it down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 520 ✭✭✭Xcom2

    >>>I hear Ichii The Killer is very gory, make sure you get an uncut version if you decide to track it down.<<<

Whatever you do dont buy the Hong Kong version there is something like 15 minutes missing(this is the one i got, Doh!!).
The Japanese version is uncut but without english subtitles so the Dutch version is the one to go for.

    "Videodrome, I think

That was pretty messed up to watch sober!

but for disgusting horror films you cant beat the 70s/ 80s zombie flicks.

and yeah the hellraiser ones had some pretty manky stuff in them too.

Don't know about 'disgusting', but I remember when the credits started rolling at the end of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I suddenly became very aware of the fact that I had been watching the film with my mouth open, with a pretty shocked-looking face on me.

The Fly. The bit where the baboon gets turn inside out. Urrggg You can almost smell nuked simian

Definitely Jackson's 'Braindead'. Its disgusting in an hilarious, cheap way. Bought it a few years ago on video, and it's one I'd definitely recommend watching if you love blood and guts and gunk. His first film was 'Bad Taste' which is sposed to be as sick as 'Braindead' if not sicker. I haven't seen it unfortunately.

Haven't seen these films but like ObeyGiant I was shocked at the Texas Chainsaw massacre. When I saw it first I was 16 or so and didn't think much of it but when I saw it when it was on in the Uk just a month ago I was a tad sickened.

To be honest, i think the goriest film I have seen would have to be Battle Royale. society in japan breaks down. to get some of the wasters off the streets, the government makes a last man standing game, on an island. A bunch of schoolchildren are captured and brought there. They have to wear collars with an explosive in them, if they are in the wrong place at the wrong time, they detonate. oh, and if they dont kill each other quick enough, they all die. each is given a weapon, ranging from Uzis to potlids.

a good one if you like the gore, im not sure if it is banned over here. i picked it up on a DivX...

    Lucio Fulci - the master!
I'm currently trying to scrape funding to procure some more of his nice films -

Try www.blackstar.co.uk if you want to get some nice horrors they got everything.

Cannibal Holocaust - thats a great blind date film (if the date isn't going well ^_^)

Evil Dead 1 is very good especially if you get into it - absolutely depressing it's great, not one good thing happens.

Depends on what ya like really I suppose
If you're a gore fiend go for the older stuff
If you like just plain surreal - any of Lucio Fulci's films will do

And if you like Scream and the like - cinema will cater for thy needs

Come to think of it - the scariest film i ever saw was "Jeepers Creepers"
It was at that moment that i lost faith in anyone releasing anything good anymore, traumatised and shaken i wanted to go home, sit in a dark room for 12 hours watching Brain Dead to regain my dwindling sense of reality ^_^

You can buy Battle Royale on DVD here (limited edition set thingee) so it's far from banned.

It's also not very gory. Check out Ichi The Killer for gory. Gotta love those shoes.

not a movie, but the most disgusting thing I ever saw was a file a friend had downloaded off one of the P2P apps. it was a video of an actual execution of a russian soldier by serb rebels.

not fake, not made up at all, and no doubt about what happened.

basically the poor dude got his throat cut, but they did it by having him face down in the dirt. stood on his back with his arms and legs bound and sticking a hunting knife in his neck under his ear and sawing it right through to the front. A lot of very real blood pumping and the guy gagging for about a minute before he was dead.

I didn't sleep for about 3 days after that, just knowing that it was real and seeing the look on the guys face as he died.

I'm not going to reveal anything more about where you can get it because I know there'll be kids on these boards, but I'm sure if you really wanted to see it you could find it, although I really wouldn't reccommend it because it really will leave even the strongest stomach feeling very queasy for a long time. Not to mention the emotional effects.

If you really have to see the worst there is to see, then go ahead, but I'm telling you it's the most horrible thing you will ever see beyond all doubt, and it might well affect you very badly. DO NOT VIEW HIS VIDEO!!!

I've heard about this. Supposed to be disgusting. Theres also a file you can download which shows someone being hit by a train.

I've seen the one with the person being hit by a train, and it's quite bad, but not graphic really.

my mate has a whole collection of funny/gross vids that he takes delight in showing me whenever I'm over his way, and some of them are pretty funny, but occasionally something extreme comes up, such as in the case I mentioned before.

I'm gonna say this again because believe it or not just thinking about it when i wrote my previous post has left me shaking for the last couple of hours:
IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 OR EVEN REMOTELY SQUEAMISH DO NOT LOOK FOR/VIEW THIS VIDEO FILE. IT WILL LEAVE YOU SCARRED FOR LIFE. TRUST ME.

Quite a few years ago, a guy called ( dont be spreading them kinda things around here please - Tusky ) called a press conference. He didn't tell anyone, but the reason he called it was to publically commit suicide. The newspapers and TV were there, and when ( bleep ) whipped out the gun, they freaked out. When they realised what he was actually planning to do, they rushed the stage, and (bleep) quickly put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.

This is all real, and the video is pretty easy to find. I'm not going to give the URL, because I'm pretty sure that kind of stuff is enough to get me banned. But anyone with half a clue can probably figure out how to find it - that name again: bleep.

Strange thing is, I didn't find it disgusting. Just disturbing.

Yeah I've seen that one, black and white, in the 60's wasn't it?
The crowd freaked, fairly disturbing though.
The kid getting knocked down by the train, that freaked me out sort of.
Worst thing I saw was an mpeg of some family on safari. The oul lad gets out of the jeep with his camera to take pics of a lion and he gets hopped on by another lion from behind. Not sexually! So the lions start tearing and ripping him. His family are freaking out and the little kid is balling crying. The guy gets killed. Don't know if it's real, but it is fúcked up to look at. So don't watch it if you find it. Very very disturbing.

possibly, but if they all end up puking and traumatized they can't say I didn't warn them can they!

It really is some very nasty stuff, but it's kinda like rubbernecking an accident to see if you can see anything gory. You know you're not going to like it, but there's that bit deep down inside you that just has to see anyway.

There are websites dedicated to pathologists photo's and 'you've been framed' style maiming/killing clips where there was a TV crew there or just some dude with a camcorder getting a good shot of something nasty.

Now given the popularity of these types of things, either a good portion of people are mentally deranged (not something I'm going to rule out at this stage) or a glimpse into the finiteness (if that's even a word) of our own mortality helps us to hold onto life more strongly, kick starting the survival instinct into overdrive, at least for a little while.

In short: we need to be exposed to death to fully appreciate life. yin and yang, black and white, good and evil. however you look at it, one can't exist without the other.

Anyway, it's up to you. If you think you can handle it, then go find it. I'm positive it'll be easy to find if you're looking. But like I said before, it's all at your own risk. Don't flame me for letting you know it exists. Everyone is responsible for their own actions.

Is there really that big a difference? I really would have thought the whole thing was relatively on-topic.

In the case of the (bleep) thing I was talking about earlier, I was really reminded of low-budget horror films, like Last House on the Left, or Driller Killer - which is why I mentioned it in the first place.

Is the "horror" board reserved for fictional horrors?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,070 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

No it is not reserved for "fictional" horror but this thread has gone way off topic, also this is not the place to intice people to download these sick real life murder/suicide/death videos, the vast majority of people who download them regret it afterwards as it has a disturbing effect on alot of people,

Feel free to make a thread about real life horror etc but this ones about horror movies :)
