    Yeah I'm in NCI

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

My course is alright I suppose, I don't really like the emphasis on computer programming, Java is a pain in the ass.

The college (to be honest) sucks. There is no social life, the students union are incompetant, there are no decent clubs or societies and the facilities are useless.

An utterly depressing hole or a place.

Its an education factory which would prefer to spend money on the staff facilities than for anything else.

    "excellence" my arse.

i ****en hate this. Im stuck in a degree which i dont like for another 3 and a half year if i make it. i hate java, it absolutely sucks. mainwindow my arse!!! Now its not that bad, it would be better if there was a social life in the place. I dont like spending hourse each day in the excise bar....so since semester two, i aint a sheep no more. i jus wish there were proper organised clubs and societies.

    BIS (Business Informations Systems Development)
    CAO CODE : FT354
    DIT Aungier St
    Second Year

Great college, plenty of clubs and socs if your into that sort of thing, good social life outside of clubs and socs. Students Union work hard to make it so (In Aungier St anyway). Nice building too.. probably not as nice as the new NCI building though.

The place (Aung St) is full of fantastic fanny too!!!

Hey that was on my cao last year but u need a b1 in pass maths. I only got a d3...pitiful i know but maths aint my thing. I would also like to get away from programming into a more business kind of course if i was to drop out. I have until may to give my decision because i filled out my cao again. oh well, thats life i guess!

I'm in NCI. Not alot happens there. Its expensive and you can't do too much on the computers (In comp cert) I know a few people in the software course who are ok.

    Don't think I'm a nerd soooooooooooooo I don't know

Could repeat maths if you actually really wanted to do the course? Course is half business / half programming.

Diploma in Business in A St is really good course too and better craic than the degree from the people i know.

Ah ye, the girls are hot. And they do exist....just not in my course which is my point...

Number two, why the hell would i ever repeat maths!?

I want to leave a computer programming/half business course to do a whole business course not to go to another one especially a diploma one...well thats just what im thinking anyway....i dont want any course bad enough to repeat maths man...u insane!?

After all, a degree is a degree, its what you do with it....**** it, ill just try and stick it out...why am i suddenly not as pissed off as yesterday? because i was told today i made a big improovement in java...which is a big thing for me considering i find it the most boring **** at times!

U obviously aren't aware of the business ladies.

Yeah when I was in first year there were 8 guys and 90 girls,

There was a list going around last year of the 10 most good looking girls of course there was none from the computer courses

I like NCI but don't feel the new campus is all its promised

Slimshady and Damnyanks I have to admit I'm biased here because I happen to be the SU Vice President but I don't know who you are so you can be brutally honest and slag the place cause I probably agree with what you're saying and I did promise the impossible task of trying to make some changes last year

I do take your point about clubs and socs not being properly organised but the Union cant do this themselves

btw Chair I know who you are !!!
Nice building too.. probably not as nice as the new NCI building though.

Would have to disagree with this though DIT Aungier St is a much nicer building

And I'm going there next year to do a postgrad, after 5 yrs I'm finally leaving NCI, don't know whether to be sad or happy
    :(:( ) :)

By the way Damnyanks, slimshady you can tell me what you really think of the SU cause I really don't know who you are

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? I know antothonymcg ooooohhhhhh who remembers him harassing those strippers tut tut

I'm in the SU alot sooooooooooooooooo

    i'll say hallooooooo

and i sent a pm if it really interests you

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 660 ✭✭✭anthonymcg

Hey, those strippers were asking for it. :)

The problem with the college is that it's hard to get informatics and business students to fix. Kinda like cats and dogs. Or something. I've been a class rep for the past 3 years and its a bitch to get them all out.

So you hate your course because of a lack in hot girls. You know it was computers you sighned up for right ?

Are you sure its business you wanna do ? I've got one moduale each semester and no one seems to goto it. I havent been to the new one at all because its so boring.

You seem content with any sort of degree, so do you really not care what you end up working as ? Content to work in a job you may possibly hate just because a degree is a degree ?

If i get A degree...i dont neccessarily have to work as that. I could get a degree in astro physics and go work in business. Facts are most people who get a qualification dont stop there, they go specialise in somthing else. It doesnt make a ****en difference. Unless your studying to be a doctor or a lawyer or somthing.

In DIT diploma course codes are 'DT' degree course codes are 'FT' i.e. FT-354.
I wouldn't knock diploma courses though. As you said yourself, a degree is a degree. Nobody cares how you got your degree as long as you have a well recognised one.

Didn't know NCI had a half s/w and half bus course. If you think you can stick the programming out you can always go into the bus side when you get your degree.

It doesn't. There's one business module per semester which doesn't constitute half.

I do two modules of business....1 is business management, the other is business communications. A business course seems way easier to do. Anyway, for now im doin ok in my course so im not worried...I just wish there were some hot girls in our class instead of geeks! but ye hot girls and computers dont go togeather!

Yes that is a sad reality of life but the business courses have plenty of good looking girls and there is a valentines traffic light ball so maybe you could score a business student

Maybe if you stopped moaning on here you might have time to notice the goodlooking girls in NCI

Anthony obviously has noticed them plus the pretty ugly lookin strippers

Anyway lets do a list of things people like and things people hate about NCI

    1. I like the building
    2. I hate the fact theres no gym as yet
    3. I hate the fact that everything is so expensive
    4. I like the excise bar
    5. I like the SU president (have to say that shes my boss)

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? i have a girlfriend man...i dont want to score someone else! I just want to flirt with some goodlooking chicks in a software development class! No biggie!

Anyway, im not moaning, i like the college a lot. Basically the last day i came on here, i was pissed off so i moaned...it all depends wat mood im in really....
