I need a little bit of help in relation to CPU:DRAM settings on an Asus A7N266-VM motherboard.
I am using this board with an AMD 1700XP processor.
When I was setting up the board I referred to the manual but this has been superseded by an extra insert sheet included at the back of the manual.
Initially the board was set up with the CPU at 100Mhz and DRAM at 133Mhz.
This sets the processor clock speed to 1100Mhz.
To up this I upped the CPU FSB to 133Mhz .
This works fine for a DRAM setting of 100Mhz.
However when I push this to 133Mhz ,I encounter a problem.
The system enters the Win XP loading stage and then a black screen appears with the mouse icon busy.
    This lasts forever.
Other times it manages to load windows but displays an error message saying 'Isiss.exe not found' and when I close this error the machine reboots and repeats the cycle.
The PC runs very nicely in the CPU 133: DRAM 100 mode.
The CPU temp is around 27C which is very low indeed.
I'd appreciate any advice anyone could give me.
    Thanks

Forgot to add that the board uses DDR Ram ,operating @266Mhz.

    Hmm no replies .
Maybe I'll ask something more straightforward.
How much of a loss in efficiency would I see if I droped the memory speed from 266Mhz down to 200Mhz for a 256Mb module ?

Try putting your ram into a different slot your PC shouldn't have any problems running with your RAM and FSB at 133

What version of the Bios do you have now ?
    I have version 1.05.
I think this is the most recent.
