I have to say a few things here.

1.I just recently went back to playing this ultimate classic Adventure Game and Am having problems with Sound.
Every now and then while the music is playing or some1 is talking the Sound crackles alot.
It takes away alot of enjoyment from the Game and I also tried turning down the volume a tad (as the Troubleshooter suggests)
and It still is the same way.
Any Help at all would be greatly appreciated as I am dieing to visit the really cool Casino bit o' the game.

2.Just thought I'd mention that Grim Fandango is now on the shelves for a budget price of 15.00 smackaroonies.
    Go and Buy It.

    3. That is all.

I love this game more than life itself, it pains me that so few people have played it till the end, My fave adventure game of the last 6/7 years

to help with your problem I can only reccomend reinstalling the card, reinstalling the game. it may even be a problem with the direct x version conflict. also make totally sure you have no other program running that may use the sound card
