PS2 multitaps on ps1 games

simply put does it work ? could i play smackdown 2 or jonau lomu rugby through a PS2 multitap ? Sometimes I think the surest sign that inteligent life exists elsewhere is that none of it has tried to contact us

as long as your using the multitap on your PS2 as PS2 equipment is not compatible with the Playstation, but im sure you know that.
