    Hey guys I was just wondering if any of you have any experience with http tunnelers. The thing is I will be moving my PC up to college (DCU) next week and obviously I want to be able to play games. Apparently I'll be behind some kind of firewall and I'm just wondering if this matters when it comes to playing games on online servers and if so what can I do to solve this problem. Do these http tunnelers (like at http-tunnel.com) work when it comes to games or am I doomed never play games again? Any help is much appreciated.

    The program HTTP-Tunnel, would be absolutely useless for games, even if you paid for the subscirption service. I only use it to connect mIRC in college..and even then, its barely any use cause of the speed and disconnections.

    In games, Pings would be sky high, plus you got disconnected and reconnected quite often.

    There may be other ways around a firewall tho..if you find one, let me know :)

    When you get there look around and see if there are any servers that use unusual/high ports that aren't blocked by the college firewall.

    From experience I've seen Quakeworld work to external servers from behind a college firewall. I've no experience of DCU's tho. I'm sure some other games will work if you just look around for a server. You might get lucky.
