Someone mentioned the Nine Inch Nails version of Hurt earlier, But I heard Johnny cash Singing it first. Very poignant, if you consider he must be damned close to death himself......

    "Flyaway"* - Wild horses
    When the picture reappears,
It might be a thousand years,
Two young lovers the world forgot,
    Two young lovers in <?>,
For the memory it fades away,
Be so careful for what you say,
For the future is placed aside,
Take one last look and close you eyes,

    Flyaway,
Know that your feet, touch the ground,
    Flyaway,
Know that the world gets you down,

    Now the picture reappears,
It has bought a thousand tears,
Two young lovers the world forgot,
Two broken hearts is all they got,

    Flyaway,
Know that your feet touch the ground,
    Flyaway,
Know that the world gets you down,
    ..............

Emm, for my money, it's one of

Janis Ian's 'Lover's Lullaby' or "Watercolours'

The Smiths' 'There is a light that never goes out'

Scott Walker's/Jacques Brel's "If you go away"/"Ne me quitte pas" (but it's a close run thing between that an Nina Simone's version.)

And Billie Holiday's version of Frank Sinatra's "I'm a fool to want you"

    That's misery-a-plenty for anyone really... :-)

    FLY by Celine Dion

I believe the song was wrote about her Niece who had cancer.

    Fly, fly little wing
    Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
    And fly again
    Fly, fly precious one
    Your endless journey has begun
    Take your gentle happiness
    Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
    There is peace forevermore
    But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
    Until we meet
    Fly, fly do not fear
    Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
    Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
    But I won't forget
    Fly, fly little wing
    Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
    Go now, find the light

    Oh oh, there's more....

Tori Amos - 'Not the red baron'
Belle & Sebastian - 'You made me forget my dreams'

Most of the last Montgolfier Brother's album, and Joe Pernice's 'Two of you sleep' off 'Chappaquiddick Skyline', and Bonny Prince Billy's 'Ain't You Wealthy, Ain't you wise' and Emmy Lou Harris's 'Michelangelo.' (The woman should be turned into a World Heritage site.)
