[Article] etc thread names

    I keep seeing more brackets at the header of the thread titles on the latest 20 posts list. [Article] being the most prominant.

    How does a thread contain such information? Is it if you click the icon1.gif radio button? If so, what are the other headers that exist?

    It originated on politics so that articles could be posted without necessarily doing an in depth discussion. Often the thread-starter would simply be rehashing the article in their own words. It is now part of the charter on politics (thanks gandalf). It is merely added by typing "[Article]". It has since spread, particularly in "Society".

    "[new]" tags are added by a hack in vBB and have no responses.
