Sorry to be a pain, but I've had my DVD player for about a month now and something's been bothering me.

It came with some rather spanky surround speakers, so I've been running my Gamecube through the second SCART socket on the back, but it's having a rather unpleasant effect on the quality of colour for anything played on the Cube. Is there something I can do about this or is it a vile tradeoff I'll have to live with?

The DVD player's a Black Diamond MD19HTS, incidentally.

In what way are the colours unpleasant? Are there no other spare Scart sockets on back of telly?

It may be an RGB problem?

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for not responding quicker.

Anyway, here's a fantastic demonstration of my adjective prowess: the coulour seems... duller. Flatter, maybe. Not as vibrent or bright.

And no, the TV's only got one SCART socket. Besides, the speakers connect through the DVD player. Afterall, it's no big hassle to switch SCART plugs at the back of the TV, but I'd like to avail of some subwooferness.

Can i assume that you have plugged the gamecube directly into the tv scart and it is perfect except for the subwoofer and surround sound?

...it sounds like the signal from the GameCube is being attenuated somewhat while going through the DVD player (probably down to the lack of a working video preamp in the DVD player).

You may get better results by switching back to an old-fashioned RF modulator (if they ship 'em with the GameCube...)

What about a Scart Lead with Phono Leads? You could plug the phonos into phono inputs at the back of DVD system? Then you'd need a double scart adapter to have both DVD and GC plugged into telly at same time. If interested, I think Blaze manufactures the lead.
