Ronnie reassures Giggs over horror miss

I remember Steve "I played for England" Stone had a miss worse than the two of them boys...

It was a bad miss alright, Giggs has no confidence at the minute.

Funny you should mention England misses!

I recall Crystal Palaces Geoff Thomas (haha remember him?) missing an open goal for England against France around 1991.

Thomas Scenario : Imagine being totally unmarked with an open goal diagonally 35 yards away so all you had to do was kick the ball in a straight line at any speed or power you like to score. Thomas eventually managed to miss the CORNER FLAG by about 5 yards.

Who was that Dutch guy who missed an open net for Rangers against Celtic in the Old Firm a few years back. I couldn't help but laugh.

Was it Michael Mols ? They have had a few Dutch lads in recent years.

I remember the Geoff Thomas one Pigman, it was hilarious, from what i recall he tried to chip the keeper and it piddled miles wide...

    :p

No it wasn't Mols. It was a while before that. I can't think of his name!

Didn't Paul Gascoigne miss an empty net for Rangers too, he was being cocky as usual and then he kicked the ball past the post. I think that was what happened anyway. I remember laughing at it anyway.

Peter Van Vossen. An outright disturbing miss.

IMO, Giggs' miss was even worse than Ronnie's. Ronnie was under pressure from two defenders at the time, and he hit the bar. Giggs was utterly through, nobody in front of him, nobody even near him, nothing to do but roll it in, and he put it over the bar!
