new album out in june according to pitchforkmedia.com

i like having a listen to the material before i see it live
but then again there was that sigur ros song that blew
everyone away - may not have been as exciting if we know what
    happens next!

anyway, the little mean fiddler was great for big gigs,
should be deadly, here's that article

how long has it been there?
do people know what the venue itself is like?

Hasn't opened yet ... the hoarding is still up around it. Supposed to be two venues in one. Live and club.

what do you mean two venues?
    bar downstairs, venue upstairs?
    or
it's gonna have clubnights as well as gigs.

that mono club was a load of bollox

I was in the Mean Fiddler in London the weekend before last and it was brilliant.

It really showed Whelans as the pile of ****e that it really is.

well, if that were true, i'd buy them from road, but (a) i already buy most of my stuff from there anyway and (b) i'll bet they make **** loads more than sound cellar (which is a good thing)

i don't know what all this talk of ear plugs is for. they're loud but they're not *that* loud

i heard that a main stage act at one of the british festivals complained about the noise from one of the small tents in another field during their own set.....mogwai were the guilty party.
now, don't say you weren't warned!!!
apparently they sell earplugs at their gigs anyway.

well, maybe road don'y need the money but i think that they should still have it to promote more great dublin bands!

so in conclution i like road and i'll pay the extra few bob there:rolleyes:

saw them last time in the olympia and i swear to jasus my ears were ringing for bout 2 days.only joking though, wouldnt bring ear plugs. they ended on "my father my king" and there were actually people dancing to it (the francis begbie bad ass heavy part that is). these people truly were masters of the get down.

    "nobodies biying the fookin album"
