Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    "Ruud van Nistelrooy has secured the title of World's top goalscorer for 2002.

    The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFHHS), a German-based organisation recognised by FIFA, awards the title each year based on the number of goals scored in full internationals and inter-continental club competitions, including the European Champions League.

    Ruud's total of fourteen goals, which gave him the title, came from thirteen in the European Champions League and one in a full international - a remarkable achievement considering his comeback from injury and that he did not play in the World Cup finals.

    Ruud becomes only the fifth European winner after Jean-Pierre Papin (1991), Hristo Stoichkov (1994), Jurgen Klinsmann (1995) and Raul Gonzales Blanco (1999).

    Ruud received his trophy from Ian Garland, England committee member of the IFFHS."


    Well deserved, this lad is a legend, a fantastic finish last night to take him joint top scorer in the Champions League (2 in Qualifiers), Europes most prolific striker with the highest avg goals per minate and Uniteds top scorer ever in the Europe competition
    His record speaks for itself

    Yep hes a great player ,strong, holds ball up well and scores .
    Sure wish LFC had him :)
    Hes a whinger though and goes over easily :)

    He puts the chip-pan oil in his hair incase somebody decides to kick a boot at his head...so it just skids off

    he's a great player great goalscorer and off the ball he's excellent aswell, the runnning he does is un-natural trying to make space and upsetting defenders!!! he's just a class player
