Bios update

I downloaded a bios update for my HP Vectra vli8 from here http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix32861en_US.html#BIOS the date on the HP web page says 19-jan-01 but when I install the new bios and run a diagnostic it tells me it's dated 23-nov-99,surly there's a newer bios for this comp ,anybody know TIA…

Don't install any Bios version, other then that provided by the motherboard manufacturer.

The thing is I just bought a stick of 256 pc100 ram to go along with the one I have and the mobo won't reconise it ,was hoping a Bios upgrade might help

maby they stoped making updated bios's for ur mobo . it is very old if it cant take a 256 chip
