Hey Bedlam where did you find that? Wasn't that just a TV movie?

I liked the new one, only disappointment was it strayed from Ludlams excellent book too musc.

As for the thread. I saw Bad Company with Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock. I enjoyed it. Kinda a spy/thriller/action movie and it's produced by Jerry Bruckheimer - very entertaining

    I loved Signs.
    Absolutely loved it.
I bought the DVD in America recently, and I have not yet gotten tired of watching it. That's pretty rare for me.

This is a 'recommend a film' thread, not a 'discuss bourne identidy and signs' thread, get on topic folks.

    I liked:
    Catch me if you can
    Great story, and acting.

    About Scmiht (sp?)
Was a good story, but dont expect any action or a huge ending,I enjoyed watching this guys life go pear shaped and how he coped.

This is 'recommend a new good action film out to rent', not a 'give out about people going off-topic, whilst staying firmly off-topic yourself' thread. Get on topic, Pugsley.

Uh... hauling myself back on-topic - the Count of Monte Cristo is pretty nice, and uh.. action-ish.

    Bourne Identity was good viewing.
I'd recommend 'The Man Who Was't There', Coen Brothers. Say no more.

Does anyone know what the story with Training Day is? You can't rent it in my local Xtavision or Movie Master.
From what I heard they had it to rent before they were allowed and the plop hit the fan...can you get it elsewhere?

There was a distribution problem or something which meant nobody was allowed put it up for rental. Chartbusters started renting retail copies of it but I'm sure it got stopped pretty quickly. So afaik if you wanna see Training Day you gotta buy it.

3000 miles to Graceland - Elvis's, Explosions, Murder, Mayhem & a very sexy looking Courtney Cox - what else could you want :)

    Gandalf.

(Yes I know its a sh!t film but I enjoyed it!)

    Dog Soldiers.

A soldier film with werewolves ...... and a lot of dark humour.

Or, if you want to go back in time, get the 1954 black and white Akire Kurosawa classic "Seven Samurai". It's in japenese with english subtitles and is over 190 mins long, but it's bloody good.

    Dog Soldiers

Good call, one of the better independant horror movies around at the moment,as is "Long time Dead."

Reccomend you avoid "Ginger Snaps" though its dire teen angst.
As is "Murder By Numbers" the only thing to reccomend about it is the Glaring continuity errors as the teen leads visably yoyo in wieght between scenes, unintentionally funny stuff.

Iron Monkey if you can find it.

Along the lines of Croching Tiger, Hidden Dragon but much much better.

Legend of Drunken Master [Jackie Chan]

Absolutely classic action flick. Defo Chan's best to date.

not exactly action but good enough, much better than the original,The Count of Monte Cristo.
*Amazing fact no.1: In the Christmas sales of computer games in England(or Britain not sure)recentlyish, Vice City got 60% and the top 10 games, being whatever they were, scooped 40%. It's unbelievable, almost.

I'm of the opinion that the one starring Jet Li and Jet Li and a few others was brilliant, though it didn't come out that recently.

b.t.w. Kiss of the Red Dragon is heading towards lamety,i think it was meant to be funny.

Did you notice the trend in the last few years to keep things longer and longer in the new releases section in many video shops ,well in x-tra visions anyway and there are a good few extra visions.
