Receiving simultaneous steams using a DirectX client

I konw its a long shot but here goes...

I'm trying to write a video player which will receive
content from a WMServer. The idea is that video's are
broadcast in two simultaneous streams and the client plays
back one stream and buffers the other stream for delayed
    playback.

The trouble I'm having is in buffering the second stream
for delayed playback. I have tried to create a DirectShow
Transform filter which will take care of this but can not
    get it to work.

Is there a better way to do this sort of thing?
    I appreciate any advice. Thanks,

    Darragh
