P2p ADSL Sharing

    got 2 win2k boxes,
    p2p network via crossover cable via tcp/ip ..

    1 machine is connected to usb adsl modem..

    machine a 192.168.0.1
    machine b 192.168.0.2

    how to share internet connection without adding extra hardware,such a router..

    firstly, go to dos and try to ping each other on both machines ...if that all works ok, then, on both machines, right click on my computer and select map network drive ...the 'other' computer should be in there, and you can create a virtual drive, say F:\ ...Z:\
    that should work

    uh wait i wrote that on the basis that it was crossover cable into the network card on both should be the same though :confused:

    DCHP is pritty easy for using, it will allow u to add more machines at a later date.

    if u enable net conn sharing and it doesnt work then try flushing the ip's
    ip_config/release (Renew to get a fresh ip)

    theres some more codes, I'll post em tomorrow, sorry im a tad on the tired side atm :D

    I have it set up like this at home.

    Main PC has USB DSL connection.
    2 pcs connected by NIC to NIC with crossover cable, folder shared easy enough (thx Sutty) and then used a proxy for shared internet.
