The reason that United were not their usual sparkling selves was that they were given all of the possession that they wanted in the first two thirds but were closed down quickly in the last so they had not got the opportunity to get Scholes and RVN well into the game.

if oyu notice the way i started with the statement about not dissing liverpool or taking anything away from their game.

now you didnt read that did you. in fact nowhere did i say that liverpool did not play well, or didnt deserve to win.
you must have think i did, or you wouldnt have posted such rediculous rubbish.

you will notice (or rather, you didnt) that most of my post was about how liverpool fans now thing the worthington cup is worth something because the rest of their season means pretty much nothing.

Now, T4TF, can you please explain what your post is about, and exactly how does it tie into my post.

oh, by the way, next time you start a post of with

try to make some sense with your post.
or has the soccer board turned into a little clique of soccerheads and no one else can post?

oh so regular contributions. whats that about T4TF? can you please tell me, im guessing you think my opinion is worthless because i dont bother my time responding to your stupid arguements that liverpool are better than man utd, as most of the stuff you post on this board are about.

and if you are going to bother responding to this post. make sure you read what is said. make sure you understand what is said, and then reread and then dont post, because it will probably be rubbish anyway....

For me as a Liverpool supporter I didnt really give a crap that they won the cup, it was just all about beating Man Utd. The trophy was just a bonus.

Of course Man u fans are gonna make excuses after the game, jesus it hurt loosing to l'pool. It really hurt. (me neway)

So to hear that Man U fans made excuses right after the game is no surprise, it helps ease the pain. Ive heard l'pool supporters make similar excuses.

What really pisses me off is the fans who start whining and wanting to sell giggs, and now silvestre. FFS they have bad games and then they play well for 6-7games and then another bad game. Its a shame people only remember the bad points.
Its hard to be a true man u fan with all the crap going on with the wannabe supporters.

Sell silvestre and giggs, good lads. Lets replace them with worse players and then complain that we never shoulda sold giggs/silvestre or whoever. ****ing get over it and see that you cant always play well.

Tbh if a player isnt playing well its the managers job to replace him. I was screaming for silvestre to be replaced by O'Shea. I was almost happy when he got injured and thought he had to go off. Sure id regret it later but at least we woulda gotten O'Shea onto the pitch. For the record i think Silvestre usually plays very well.

    ..every one has off days.

It is a very small cup tho aint it :p

TBH as a Liverpool fan I just want to see us winning cups regardless of their stature and who we beat to win them. We may have beaten UTD but in the greater plan of things its irrespective of whom we beat to the win the cups or titles just beat whoever it is. Having won the League Cup yesterday we are now assured of european football which we may not achieve through out league positioning. Im happy that we won the League Cup yesterday but we have to look at our current status and realise there is a damn lot more to do than just winning yesterday. Having to scrape into europe or be nearly 20 odd points behing our rivals is not a position im happy looking at. I dont know about the rest of the Liverpool fans here but lets put it all in perspective. We were a great club 15 years ago today we are but a shadow.

What I gathered from your post is that you do not think I value your opinion. Now that is not the case, you did however start with:-

"im not going to dis liverpool or take away the win. they deserved it."

    and finished it with:-

"shame man utd didnt turn up and give them a decent game..."

If you did not wish to take anything away from Liverpool, either you posted that line in error, or you had forgotten the tripe you had written approx. 20 lines previously. If you were not going to take away from Liverpool's win then why bother with that line ?

Liverpool had high hopes at the start of the season, CL second round would have been a nice start TBH, possibly go one better than last year in the league and possibly SF or F of both domestic cups. But if you look back through the threads that you had no part of for the last 6-8 months you will see that the "Worthless Cup" is not a phrase bandied about by Liverpool fans, bar in jest at their recent poor form.

Now a spot in Europe is guaranteed next year and the Pool can have a pop at a champions league spot (that's fourth place in the league WWM), which considering how far they have fallen would be something to be excited about.

Now I could remark along the lines of "Is English your first language ?" etc. and quote from any of your posts really, but you see that isn't what this board is about, ya can spam away to your heart’s content elsewhere but it is not appreciated here.

Girls! Calm down....I should have put a time limit on that poll!

The win does'nt mean that Liverpool are any better today than last Sunday when Birmingham beat them 2-1. Nor does it mean Man Utd will not finnish second and at least two spots above Liverpool. But maybe for
us (Reds fans) it'll give the team some belif, and they might now press on and suprise us all (fingers crossed).

As a small aside. I just finished looking at the game again on MUTV. The commentary has to be the best ever. Don't know who was doing it but it was a complete bias towards Utd (s'pose I should have known that. It being MUTV. Funny all the same) similar to a lot of the stuff you here on this board (and I take into account the bias towards Liverpool by some intelligent people like Dino). It was funny tho. Anyody know who did the commentary (A scottish fella called Pat was one of them). BTW I thought MUTV was Sub only???

That would be the voice of ex-Manchester United European Cup winner, Paddy Crerand. I forget the other guy's name. It is a subscription only channel by the way. Maybe they're having one of those free weeks to get more viewers or somit. I used to subscribe to it but I got fed up with it.

    GWAN the pool :):):)

All this talk of Jerzy saving the pool is over emphasised.
RVN hit all but one shot straight at him and bar the early chance for him Man u had no clear cut chances, they were all from awkward angles where as LFC had Gerrards chance one on one and Smicers 10 inches from goal line , and of course Owens WINNING GOAL.
Man of the match for me was Dietmar Hamann.
Dunphy in the paper today said that he is a destructive player in a destructive team and that no Man u player had an answer for his aggression [ suppose that includes Roy Keane ].
In fairness Keane was the only player in the centre of the park for Man u.RVN was good but Sami did a great job on him.RVN is a gifted player and i feel if he had a clear cut chance he would have put it away but the Red army in defence made sure he would not get a clear sight on goal.
Im not gonna say LFC are as technically gifted as Man u but they muscled their way to victory.
Im over the moon for Owen and Dudek after the ****e they have being getting on this board.

Too fúcking right. Everyone on this board is very quick to jump on someone's back when they haven't been playing good but they seem to always be proven wrong by the players being criticised. It's the same with all supporters. I mean you can't be a world class footballer and be expected to give 10/10 performances every game for 10 years. Every player has a dip in form at some stage in their careers.

People seem to forget Owen is just a bloody kid who has had some serious injuries. The guy has never bottled it when the goals were not going in.He was still getting in there and getting on the end of chances. The sign of a class striker is to never give up and always believe in your ability.
Recently he seems to have his lightning pace back too.
His pace for his goal was frightening but who was there attempting to make a challenge? Keane. No hes not he player he was but who in all fairness could keep it up ? box to box energy match after match year after year surgery after surgery?
Back to Owen i have said it all along he is the player for the big occasion with nerves of steel infront of goal.
No matter who you support you gotta admit the boy is young ,he is still learning .

"OUR NATION IS LIVERPOOL, OUR LANGUAGE IS FOOTBALL"

One of the best banners at the final. Class. And Liverpool proved just that Sunday with their performance. They broke down Utd who played everything through Beckham. The left wing hardly got a look in at all. The pool played a really good game and looked like a different team than we have got used to this season.

    Im well chuffed:D
