This Nathan Jones guy. Was he actually in prison or is it a gimmick?

Conflicting stories to the WWE persona can be found here in his biography from UPW.

Does Boggo Road Gaol even exist? There is a website for it here Have the WWE really gone at lengths to back up this character.

For those that don't know, I got a reply to an e-mail I sent to Boggo Road Gaol. I got it on Tue, 28 Jan 2003. Here it is:

"Yes, Nathan did serve time at Boggo Road Gaol. He was transfered from a
Tasmanian prison because they were having trouble controlling him. Nathan
had completed a number of armed robberies while being a very heavy steroid
user. He was quick to temper and quite an angry man at the time. Info about
his time here and other details are confidential. He has visited the site
(which is know an historical site) since his release, and seems very much
at ease with his past and Boggo Road Gaol. Despite his dubious criminal
record, he is a very polite and well spoken person. The term 'gentle giant'
comes to mind.

I have heard Nathan say that he only said he used steroids cos he thought he'd get a lighter sentence. As it turned out, he didn't.
