Just wondering what has ppl built lately...well after years of tinkering around with other parts..ive built my first the motherboard is capable of an XP2400 and beyond but here it is

2 slots for DDR Ram (max 2gb)

Now if i can build a system anyone can may i be an example.

40gb 7200rpm IBM hd (windows lives on this )

using AC'97 onboard sound as well

and a cheap WinTV Go card

Most of the parts were salvaged from my old machine (866mhz p3) - hard drives, dvd, network card, modem, tv card.

I'm thinking of getting an XP 2600 cpu this summer, or maybe a new motherboard as well.

ur better of putting in 2*256 in the nforce2 so it can use twinbank - also better of with 3200 memory, or faster

Im building an entry level server.. for no reason, just thought it might be handy in the future.

Getting\Got virtually all the components from Ebay:

MSI K7D-L Master AMD760MPX, came with 2x Athlon MP 1000s. Meant to be a very good board, should get at least 2x Athlon 3000s speed out of it.
1GB ECC registered DDR (1 Stick, got great price on it)
IBM U160 SCSI 73GB LZX Harddrive. (painfully expensive on Komplett)
Hopefully it should be watercooled and fit in a small case... thats the plan anyway. Just need to decide on a GFX card and get a small (desktop) ATX case, slightly larger than MicroATX, smaller than standard ATX desktop.

It should also cost about 1/3 of the RRP of such a system "over the counter" in IRL\UK.

Your right on unkel. Actually got 2X 256 TwinMOS PC2700 DDR-DIMM CL2 . Didn't think there was much difference between 2700+3200 and price was creeping up+up.
