I was about to buy a null modem cable for myself and a friend at the weekend (for multiplayer gaming and file transfer). Anyhow I saw a 4 port USB hub in Aldi for €20 !!!!! Would this do the same/better job ? I have to by before 5pm so any quick answers would be much appriciated.

to late but a USB hub will only connect USB devices to a pc.

B and Q buy 2 cheap NICS and as much crossover cable as needed.

usb can only be used to connect two computers if you buy a chipped cable = $$$.

it is the equivalent of a crossover cable.

don't plug two usb devices together, short circuit possibility and keblam.
