    i didn't give up anything cuz i'm not christian. Well i guess u could say that i gave up food for the last 19 days during the hours of daylight for a fast

    Im giving up, giving up things-instead i gave blood and will do a fast.

    The truth is i cant survive without chocolate esp around exam time.

    But none of these things are giving things up for 'Lent'!!

    All these I'm giving up chocolate because I want to lose weight and eating after 8pm because its bad for me and smoking because it makes me the son of the devil or whatever....none of these are making a sacrifice like Jesus did really, and wasn't that the point of Lent? Thats just doing stuff for personal gain!!

    well there is an element of personal gain but there's is also sacrifice that comes with it...no pain no gain.
    sure eating no ****e will do wonders for me but its also KILLING me slowly but surely. if i could JUST HAVE A ****ING BAG OF CRISPS.....but thankfully the sweats have passed now and i'll make it till the next craving comes along.

    Ahaha I get that all the time anyway...'Eeeeuuurrrgghh its been 15 minutes since that toffee crisp...surely I can have a Yorkie now...WHY IS THIS VENDING MACHINE SO SLOW??? PUSH little spring PUSH aaaaaaarrrghhh'

    My point was though isn't Lent not about personal gain, but instead having an affinity with Jesus's suffering in the desert? (mmmm dessert)

    I'm sure he didn't do it for a smaller bum and cleaner lungs and a healthy liver or whatever?
