The power tripped today and when i restarted the machine, it gave me this error message "Your program has caused a divide overflow error, if this problem persists contact your program vendor"

It wont let me go into safe mode or anything because this program. Its like Norton Disk Doctor for DOS, starts when the computer crashes or something. Anyone know where i can find or check what programs are loading before Windows..its not in the config.sys or autoexec.bat, i need to get rid of it, or whatever else is causing this. Im running Windows 98 SE

    1/Dixie@mm?
    http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/dixie@mm.html
"This worm infects DOS executable files by prepending itself to an encrypted copy of the host file. If a copy of the worm which has not been prepended to a host is executed, it displays the following message:
Your program caused a divide overflow error.
If the problem persists, contact your program vendor."
if it got a windows early boot file and infected it?

2/Could be an incompatible line in autoexec.bat
rename autoexec.bat to autoexec.bat.old and see what happens-try and boot

What is make and model of PC?specs-(bios)etc.
