laptop not working help needed

i was trying to play a dos game and the laptop restarted that get a balck screen saying windows 98 is now starting your ms dos program Vektor Grafix Lts:error from disk drivers\vga.drv not ready reading drive c abort. retry, fail

i figured it out i pressed f8 and started in safe mode and deteled the dos game windows was starting in dos mode
and the game was faulty so there was nothing to exeute
so windows just hung
