Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Around this time of year (and in October) the Sun is lined up with your Sat Dish from Directly behind the Satellites in line.

You will get an outage for a minute or two until the sun moves off.

Time is around 11 Am these days. There is a calculator for inputting your location and the satellite location.

Galway is around 53n and 9.1w for example.
    Hotbird Sat is around 13e

The Calculator and science explanations are Here

That is one reason why that though Dishes are conductive so to be radio wave mirrors, they have matt darkish paint.

If the dish was very reflective it woult be a permenant outage with big dishes as the LNB plastic goes on fire!

We are also only 1 year after peak of 11 year Solar cycle with most solar wind / noise (i.e. last year would be best for "Northern lights" and 4 years time the worst). Severe solar storm "Northern Lights" have been seen as far south as Spain!
