Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

what films are showwing that weekend?

Film Four should be free to air ,end of story. Just like TCM.
It's a sin that a company can charge for the average films they show. Most have been on Channel 4 before or some other channel. I mean how many times have they and Channel four both shown East is East at this stage.

Anyone who pays for these channels is obviously fairly well off!!

    Thats my rant for now.....

BTW. Film 4 wont be unencrypted or FTA.
So you still need a Sky subscription for that weekend to watch the movies.

Most have been on Channel 4 before or some other channel.
We have been spoilt in Ireland with RTE movies when compared to the UK terrestrials.
In the UK Film 4 seems pretty good, whereas a lot of the "blockbusters" on Film 4 have already been shown on RTE for free. Admittedly, its nice to get them in W/S with no adverts but at nearly 10 euro a month its not worth it.

I've just changed the thread header, its a free weekend, its not coming to Freeview, which may confuse some folk.

Agreed - everytime FF do this it convinces me even more why I really don't need this channel.

TmB: Nothing really jumps out at me...

Some of these are cracking movies:
    Trainspotting
    The Crying Game
Battle Royale (haven't seen it but cult classic)
    Requiem For A Dream
    Blue Velvet

I only wish that one of the Sky Movies channels would should movies of this calibre.. Instead you get:

Premier - Blockbuster rubbish, repeated constantly
    MovieMax - third-rate movies - rarely watchable
Sky Cinema - Some hope here.. Occasionaly good movies

<Mental note> Must get rid of Sky movies package and subscribe to FilmFour </Mental note>

terrible selection of movies this weekend, but im delighted to have traded all the movie channels for this instead. 2 reasons really = 1. much better choice of films 2. better start times with the plus one channel - i nearly always missed the 8pm movies on sky movies...

cmon, bugsy malone is worth another watch aint it...i loved that as a kid - thast the kids gangster movie where they all fire cream pies from guns at each other aint it?

Cancel Sky altogether and buy more DVDs?

    Or is that heresy?

(FFE) Sex: the Annabel Chong Story

Thats an excellent documentary. Only saw bits of it before, so I'll look forward to watching it from the start. It was on channel 4 already.

Driller killer - still banned in Ireland it would seem. This will no doubt be a slightly cut UK version.

Battle Royale. According to IMDB, the tagline is "Could you kill your best friend?" and the plot outline is "42 high school students are forced to kill each other on an uninhabited island". Sounds interesting.

Suspiria has a great tagline... "The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92" :)
