There are a number of affiliate program sites:
    http://www.cj.com/
    http://www.reporting.net/
    http://www.tradedoubler.com/
    and of course:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk
    http://www.amazon.com

Most advertisers have moved away from the pay-per-click model and will now only pay per lead or sale.
If you choose advertisers that offer products and or services that fit in with your site and its audience you can do quite well, but it may take some time before you get the marketing mix right.

    Best of luck!

I noticed the way you said hits, in most causes traffic monitoring tools will monitor the amount of users to your site by visits not hits the hits number is not correct in most cases as each image on your site gets a certain number of hits from one visit.

Just one to watch out for.

whatever you do dont use www.cj.com they ****ed me about and wouldn't pay the commision owed to me until after about four months of harrassment and a solicitors letter that had to wing it's way all the way to the states.

If you do use them and when you get problems just watch them use their phrase "we do things in batch processing every month" I'm not the only one I know a few others who had the same problem as me

    What's your site about?

Trying to negotiate sponsorship deals might be more lucrative for you. If it's a niche market though very targetted advertising could work well.

It's not in the charter as far as I know. It was discussed at length a couple of weeks back. If you do a search you should be able to find the threads.

Thanks Blacknight - errr ... am I mistaken or is Blacknight Solutions missing from the Web Developers category on Irish Search.net?

Blacknight Solutions doesn't do web development anymore, so it wouldn't make much sense keeping it listed there.
