I have this theory about when people are born, can people partake in my experiment?

January, you weirdo :D - what are your conclusions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,524 ✭✭✭✭Gordon

Afaik the most popular month is September (the lucky month to have me as one of its birthdays). Reason being the Christmas period - get a present - give a shag possibly.

Otherwise a popular month would be the conception of summertime. (March?)

    I know what you're thinking...

You've been to a lot of birthday parties lately, haven't you?

I blame the 70s and the May Bank Holiday weekend ;)

His theory is that most people are born in September. The 25th probably being the most common date.....work it out yourself ;)

I was born in April, I think April is the most popular month for birthdays!

    Born in may.

Know alot of people born the end of may, last count was near ten. Know of quite a few people born the end of march too though.

These stats could be very interesting indeedy.

    A.

    I'm a December dude, personally.

You'd think that because of sunshine and heat acting as stimuli that more people would be inclined to copulate in the warmer months (June-August) thus you should have the most births around the March - May mark.

Stop it! You're making me feel very average. I was born on Sept 28th.

    I'm a December babe/baby

Born at the beginning of the month so I benefit from both Christmas and Birthday presents unlike an unfortunate friend of mine who has some very stingey relatives

    Mwahahahahahaha!

    *cough*

no conclusions yet, but early indications do help my theory. Basiscly my theory is that there are 2 peaks spring and autumn and it is at least in part genetic, i.e. our bodies encouraging us to have new born babies at (a) harvest time and (b) spring time so as to have the best food supplies available when the mother is least able to go searching.

Apparently the Christmas shag thing is more than just a cultural thing, it is also hormonal. Hmmm, thats my next experiment.

    January 4th

I know alot of people born in January, alot.

16th May. I reckon March is the most common month, it's leading this poll and I know huge amounts of people born in that particular month, more so than any other - my Dad and one of my brothers were born then, as well as my late paternal Grandad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78,523 ✭✭✭✭Victor

Hmm, not quite what I expected (this is still a small sample). But certainly there are very few February babies (even adjusting for the shorter month) due to the cold weather and the main peaks seem to be along the lines I expected. I wonder if it is the opposite in the southern hemisphere.

You like statistics don't you, Vic?

    I was a December babby.

Keep in mind the amount of drunken shaggin' going on around Paddy's day too, of course

November am I. Is this just to determine the mating season of humans? It's a pretty interesting poll. Give your conclusions so we know when it's usual to, you know, rock the casbah.

Ditto. Thank God it was no earlier - I was born just on the right side the 40 weeks after my parents getting married :D

So it's probably just a case of newly wedded bliss here.

    Eugh.

No hope of forgetting to get them an anniversary present then, eh? :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,274 ✭✭✭de5p0i1er

    Dec 2nd.
December is the worst month to be born in as its so close to christmas and you get crap presents that close to christmas:mad:

so for your kids sake keep it in your pants during march or they'll resent you for it later.

You'd think that, but I almost always only remember on the day, usually just before seeing them.

    December 3rd.
I know a lot of people born in Nov - Jan period.
I'd say a lot of December and November babies are a result of Valentines day.
