Is Brando Still Around

Back in 2001 I made about 6 trips to Ireland and seen Brando at one of the local pubs. I followed them for about a year and wanted to check back to see if they every got a record deal. Looking at their site it is just a bunch or porn. What is the deal? Is the band still together and have they released anything?

I should of search this board before I posted. Now I see Brando is no more. What a pitty. From what I heard they were great.

Does anyone have any MP3s of them?

uh-huh, they split last november i think. went to their last gig, twas excellent. i'm afraid i can't help wit the mp3's but i know that elton was supposed to be doing some solo thingy???

they were excellent n i miss 'em much *sob*

It's such a terrible shame. I loved them to bits...as all my mates will tell you! They have a 5-track EP called The Singular Death of Privacy and a single of the same name with 2 other tracks on it. You can probably get them in Music City in Rathmines or maybe Tower.
Do keep an eye out for Elton doing solo gigs though. He's fantastic.

Sandi, I created two images for Windows backgrounds back in 2001 when I first heard them. The site is still up but I never updated anything on it. You might want to get them.

Would Tower in the States have the EP?

I too miss brando lots. I regularly request them on phantom. They were really good. I reckon they are young and will return. I hear Elton is in South Africa or summat. My Ultimate Irish gig would be a double header with Brando and the brilliant trees making a return to the scene. Two of the best Irish prospects of recent times.

my god ive heard it all now...brando the greatest band ever to come from ireland...please go away and develop a taste for good music and you will find that blando were one of the most overrated,over played,over hyped pile of tripe ever to crawl out of ireland...i mean its blando,,, oh sorry brando i dance on the grave of blando.........good enuf for em

Different strokes for different folks people! Everyone has different tastes! So sick of this nonsense. Why can't someone publicly state that they like a band without being beat over the head for it.

i guess in this day and age it's easy to sit back and give out about a band that should have been big. but saying that they were over played is a bit much.
cop on and think about it! if you wanna know what over playing is then fúck off and go listen to fm104. the last thing irish bands need are even more people like you daming them! they work blood hard to make it, and if like brando it doesn't pay off the last thing they need to hear is twats like you saying that they were crap any way........

brando were great!

Raggamuffin has a recording of Brando's last ever gig, maybe he could be so good as to give a copy of it to move360media.
