What OS and what do you mean by popup bar opener? Just a pop up ad?

Firstly check for spyware on your sys and uninstall. Use msconfig (not in 2k) if you have it to dissable them. also get ad-aware and it should remove any spyware it finds.

get SpyBot S&D from

this scans for and removes more spyware than ad-aware (i've found)

get spywareblaster from
www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

this blocks the CLSIDs of known spyware before they ever get on your machine.

just make sure you keep them up to date and you'll rerely have to wory about spyware crap ever again
