The Jorg Haider visit to Trinity raises the question do people believe that Fascists (or whatever title they want to go under) should be given publicity to get their opinions across to the wider population or not?

Yes, there's no harm in it.

Everyone goes on about the freedoms of the west in relation to comparisons to the middle east. If you're going to hark on about the freedoms we enjoy so much, then no limits on free speech should be imposed. Either we have free speech or we don't. Not, if we like what we hear, the person has free speech, but if we disagree we can't provide free speech... thats bull****.

In which case the reclaim the streets should be met by army troops, and tear gas from the start. Because some people disagree with the organisation of such an event

There will always be limits on what is and is not acceptable under freedom of speech.

Libel and Slander will always get you in trouble, no matter what Human Right to self-expression you wish to claim.

After that, there will always be lines where other laws will intervene. For example, if I support your right to incite violence, will you in turn support my right to have you arrested for being a prime cause if and when said violence erupts?

If people want complete freedom of speech, then they should accept complete responsibility for their speech as well. We wont prevent you saying stuff, but we will hold you responsible for the influence it has.

If we're not willing to shoulder that responsibility, then ultimately, there will be some lines drawn.

And always remember, your right to free speech is not a condition which forces anyone to distribute that. It does not oblige media of any description to supply you with a forum.

what i mean to say, is if you expect freedom of speech, why then should you expect it to be restricted for others?

There will be restrictions, and rightly so, but they fall within the domains of the law, not what the individual decides.....
