    Digital Spy are reporting this...

Setanta to launch sports channel for Freeview

Irish broadcaster Setanta is planning to launch a free-to-air sports channel on Freeview, according to Media Week.

The new channel, pencilled in for the end of the year, will show "a combination of live sport, documentaries and archive footage."

Setanta currently broadcasts two pay-per-view stations on Sky Digital, but the new channel will be its first free-to-view offering.

The broadcaster is reportedly "in negotiations" to extend some of the rights it currently holds to the Freeview environment.

    Interesting...

Hmm, that would be interesting to see how that pans out.

I wonder what live stuff they'd show. I would like to see them broadcast the All Ireland on Freeview across UK. Don't think it would help whatever subs money they get from Sky though if they did that though! :)
