the protest is against the **** line we have in cork, and the fact that eircom says they upgraded the exchanges all over the place, but pretty much nobody qualify for ADSL!And most of us are stuck at 28.8K from the lines splitters installed all over the place (http://www.eircomtribunal.com).

But still nothing done... I think it is time for action and end the talking (no! I ain't saying cut all the wooden polls from eircom with a chainsaw to force them into upgrading the phone network).

He said there might be a small problem with my line...

Well.. err.. I forgot... but when he said it might only be a small problem with my line (yeah... like it's 15 years old maybe? or on the line splitter outside the house? oohh you mean the thing you're going to climb on tuesday when I'll be at work... and then I will have nothing to complain about on wednesday when you come, and you're going to charge me like 70 euros because you won't find any fault? unfortunately for you... if you try that, I will apply (and as such pass the DSL requirements) on tuesday... I will try every 30 minutes just to check... )

Just saying coz It looks like they are looking at the threads... or could it be the fact that I sent a very angry mail yesterday to the cork local county 2 highest persons? (as the ministers (something ahern) didn't really express any interests....

how weird is that... my neighboors (same building 3rd floor) has a "Full line" as in not line splitter... 56K connection (as in V90 against my V34..)... when he comes to my place... V34 for him too... and I thought I was imagining things... (well from the mail I received the other day from one of the eircom Tech... )...

I hate being right sometimes! Damn it!

I think considering the number of different threads basically complaining about the Eircom con service all appearing under different thread headings should have one main thread showing all complaints against them.

UTV internet have received a massive accumulation of compliments under one thread and deservedly so?.

A massive number number of complaints against Eircoms disgusting conning of Irish citizens needs more media exposure, perhaps the media would be forced to note the number of complaints pointing out Eircoms anti-competitive behaviour if everyone posted their stories of woe on this page of the ongoing Ireland OFFline campaign.

The guy testes the line and said it was fine for phone!
Yeah I knew that you idiot!
They won't do anything...
He confirmed I was on a line splitter than he checked last thursday!
Now I connect at 28.8K coz I'm on a line splitter...
Any body else on the same situation, please log a complaint with eircom, saying that you will only pay half of the line rental and half or the internet connection as we have to stay twice as much online. Please pay your voice call as normal... as these are irrelevant in our case...
Once you receive your bill, make a list of internet cost, and rental, split it in 2, then add the phone calls, total+VAT... And join a letter telling them we will refuse to pay the full price for a service half provided.

I would like to know if you're going to do it, or if you're going to shut up and pay the full price When they force you into staying at this **** speed!

Who's beind me?
Who want to do a pacific protest?
And who in the hell is going to shut up and be a nice dog .. come on... fetch... sorry.. u ain't fast enough...

The eircom told me My area was ADSL available! why can't they upgrade me then??? **** that!

now... pacific demo so far failed... who's ready for some action in this place?

I'm just very obsessed at the moment...

I did complain.. they'll do nothing about it... (smells like corruption in there too...just my thoughts...).

And no they are not in their right to cut us off... they force us to stay online twice longer... because they won't give us decent phone lines, and take us off the splitters... This is just not fair... you technically only have half of the line... and because of that you can't get ADSL... so you are forced to stay on modem connection, and no chance of getting any faster than 28.8K...
If we get half of the line, we pay half of the bill...
So far I only heard about line splitters in Ireland and some third world contries...
Everybody else is already close to 85% of ADSL (as in you can't get a pstn Line... you will get an ADSL line when ordering a new line... isn't that a dream world?)

I also had vents of companies who were told (like I was), they will get ADSL for sure... and when it rolls out... ohh sorry... you're phone line is too bad for ADSL... it's our phone line... but we'll still won't upgrade it to give you what you pay for...

so far we pay for half of what we get... why paying in full?
they won't upgrade the lines and give us a decent service like anywhere else? fine... we pay half of the bill...

I just don't think complaining about it on a thread here is going to help, if you want to do something, go to the newspapers, joe duffy or gerry ryan radio shows, that sort of thing.
Although tbh I don't think line splitting is something that would capture the fighting spirit of the Irish radio listener at the moment.

Perhaps you could start a rumour that line splitting spreads SARS.
Or maybe not

Super_canard ... before you take to the streets in fine french style of protest (and having lived in france, Saint Denis, Paris, I am very familar with the french and France ... ah my ode to decent brie ...), its also quite french to accuse corruption everywhere at the drop of a hat and to mindless shout and rant and scream, hoping that if you get enough attention something will happen.

This will get you absolutely nowhere in Ireland, the first item in your plan of action should be to get your line unsplit.

No, you are NOT on your own. Have you considered having a word with the Clerk of the *Small claims court?..

This is located in your local District or Circuit Court premises. If you are stating that:- " Eircom.net or Eircom Ltd are charging you a monthly rental for an exclusive telephone line service and you can reasonably prove that you are only receiving half a line. Then it would appear that you could have a sound case against the Eircom department responsible, which is probably Eircom accounts division. For a small one off fee the Clerk of the Court will write too Eircom giving a set time to rectify the matter or they will then be called to appear before a Judge.

You could also claim distress caused by their overcharging you and demand a refund of 50% refund plus interest and compensation for damages too your general well being. A letter from your doctor can help if you can get your GP to co-operate.

You might also consider talking your problem over with your nearest *Citizens Information Centre and or a local MABSi.e. Money Advice & Budgetting Service, both of the above are free and one or the other might even take up your case for you, a they are PRO-ACTIVE and Government funded organisations.
