    Anyone fancy pinging this server for me , since its our clans and the one I'll be playing on most
    Its at gameservers.net

    hopefully the esat residential self install for 90 euro will ping this at something reasonable.

    amazing the way the pings are so low. Can you possably do a tracert?

    Ie, go into msdos, type : tracert clarity.jolt.co.uk


    You lucky sod :cool: Thats the lowest ping I've ever seen anyone in ireland get to jolt, even most in UK are'nt as good!

    AFAIK, the average here should be 8ms - something not quite right with these pings, imo.

    Think i will get this one! Its a modem as well as 10/100 router...

    IT direct seem to have it cheapest, though not by much.
    Elara have it for a few euro more, peats are about €13 more than ITdirect.

    Hhmm, think I'm picking up some skepticism. For what it's worth I've attached another ping and a tracert. I did a quick reboot beforehand in case the Pc was 'confused'. I'm also using a bargain-bin cheapo NIC from Peats maybe it's distorting results(?). Like I mentioned online gaming latency isn't of much interest to me so the results aren't really that relevant to me. Anyway....

    Hey im using the DCU campus accomidation broadband service, the average download speed for anything is 600kb/s constant, the highest was 982kb/s when downloading from a dublin based server. Im thinkin thats pretty dam fast, what am i going to do when i go home and use a crappy 56k modem. Broadband wont be in my area until september - crap.

    I am a hardcore games player and got my ADSL on the 8/5/03 (was ISDN) and have to say I play on English HLDM servers and my ping matches or beats other English ADSL users.
    Ping in HLDM between 18-40

    Am very very happy.
