    I'm thinking of removing our old friend the portal server and replacing it with a HCR server running a persistent world. I'll include a wee temple and the levers of doom so we can continue to control access to the campaign games.

    everyone has said that so far....

    the mod is 25mb but zips down to a lovely 3mb for download, nice and squishable so they are.

    methinks I'll be called Bob. :) or maybe Randy owl whoooar

    If anyone else has a suggestion put it down. It must be HCR though or easily convertable to it.

    Will we be running quests etc in the HCR world? Would be good on one of them campaign nights where its crap and there is nothing going on. Or no one has the hak etc... One thing Rev.. you might want to make sure the Stone of recall can be used to get us to the portal area if its a massive big world...

    You could try one of the middle earth worlds! Then you can unlike my Saruman from the server vault on the camaign and i can use him in the HCR world.. or would we all start new characters?

    I'm hosting a dedicated server so you can test-play the module together if you want.

    edit: wow, the server keeps a 2.6 ghz P4 quite busy... I got some connection-attempts, but ppl didn't join. Is the server unaccessable? Does anyone know what other ports besides 5121 (or in my case 6121) a NWN-server needs?

    edit2: nevermind, the "connection-attempts" was just the master-server checking whether I'm still alive... I'd really like to know whether ppl can join me... The server-proggy only shows my internal IP (192.168.0.19) and not my external one... hm hm hm...

    This is what i get if i try to ping it.

    Its such i high ping rate it might prevent anyone connecting.. im only using 56k but in contrast:

    just found out a freshly started server with this module running creates savegames of over 80mb size and takes ages to save. While saving, you probably got those pings. I had cheese join and I joined too. While creating my char, the server saved. It was already a bad idea to play on the same machine that is server, but this save gave my puter the rest ;)

    edit: judgeing from the time of your post, you pinged while I was playing on the server myself AND the server was saving. We'll try that again when I'm not playing on my own server (with the same machine, that is) and I accellerated the saving-procedure, if you don't mind.
