XP LAPTOP problem
recently imstalled xp on my laptop and bought a new battery for the laptop since the laptop is nearly dyears lod adn the battery was not charging, but when i try to turn on the laptop without AC power the laptop frezes at the point where the in the XP logo comes up and a blue bar flahses below, it's not a time thing because when i shut down the laptop and restart and it says wich would you like sfae mode or norma mode and count-downs from 30sec without freing! and well basically i was wondering if anybody knew what my problem may be ive never had a problem ebfore starting up on battery, ah yeah and if i have the apdapter pluged in and wait till the blue bar flashes past the point where it stalls then pull out the power it logs on fine. hope i explained this well enough!

When XP ask you which mode you want to boot and start to count down, it normally means last startup has an error. Which in your case you terminate the start up manully.

Normally if windows takes a long time to startup it means there is some hardware problem or setting problem.

If your computer boots up fine with ecternal power but stalls with battery. Then you might want to have a look at the "power management setting"

start>control pannel>battery icon

Not sure what you setting can change there to fix your problem though.

tried that! ive actually deleted all the power settings and the one i have says never to all things! like never shut down and so forth! it also happens when i do a safe mode log on it freezes at about the smae point where all the command code stuff scrolls down the page, dman knew i didnt explain it all properly thanks for the sugestion though
