Why not just drawn out all your money and lodge the cheque in your account. (Unless u mean a direct debit - which is also available from your CU to bank )

However, you may want to rethink your choice of bank - a lot of people are closing their accounts with AIB (including me) because of their increase in transaction charges (see www.askaboutmoney.com for more on this subject)
