    Just thought I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in History. I'm not finished it yet, but I think once I am I'll just start from the beginning again. There are some long boring bits, but lots of really interesting stuff too like,

    Glass - allowed indoor workers to work longer hours and avanced the 'pursuit of knowledge'.

    Kids - how recent a concept childhood is.

    Mirrors - how they created a concept of beauty.

    and lots more I can't think of now.


    I do hate it when he neglects to translate from french or latin though.
