It really depends on what happens over the summer i.e.whether full fees come back over the summer. Outside of that, if you really do need financial assistance, Student Unions and also the college itself have welfare funds.
Costing really depends on where you want to go to college and what subject you do. Either way I think all faculties have hidden costs. For example in my first year in Science you end up having to pay about €20 to each subject for tutorial books and lab notebooks. You need to buy a lab coat, a dissecting kit(if needed) etc etc etc.....
Whatever the subject keep at least €200 for books and supplies. You might also get hit to buy books after XMas aswell. If you're really stuck though the library always has copies of them.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

it mainly depends where you want to go to college. i am in castlebar and rent is really cheap compared to galway or dublin. all of that has to be taken into consideration
