Calm down everyone! Its a long match and Kens years are bound to tell when frames are tricky to win, and Hunter may if he gets "to far" ahead get too comfy and start thinking about the final. That said Hunter is class.

    Mike.

From what I saw this afternoon they are both making a lot of silly errors.
However Hunter seemed more in control of the match, Ken was a bit all over the place.
I really dont like Paul Hunter, so hopefully Ken will do us proud.

    Doherty 5 - 10 Hunter

Ken is playing much better today but still prone to missing easy chances and letting Hunter clean up - still far from over

Still a long way to go but he'd want to win the frame before the interval. Wouldn't be good to be 6 frames down even if it is the best of 33. Hopefully I'll see a bit of it over lunch. It's almost agonising following it on bbc website

Hunter is firm favourite at the mo and Ken is not playing his best .... He needs to get a few frames under his belt soon or he'll have no comeback ... if Hunter wins 2 - 3 more I think Ken's head will drop and it'll be near to impossible to claw back ...

Still though it can be done .... Come on KEN

    Bloody Hell! :)

Ken obviously belives in "value for money"
he must have played about 3 sessions more snooker than Mark Williams who he looks certain to play tomorrow and Monday.

    Mike.

P.S. At this point I would like to quote myself!
Its a long match and Kens years are bound to tell when frames are tricky to win, and Hunter may if he gets "to far" ahead get too comfy and start thinking about the final.

Well well well! Comeback Ken heh?
That was crazy! 9-15 last night, who would have thought...He's got Williams in the final. Can Ken win it again? Yeh he can!

Two sessions gone and Williams leads Doherty
by 6 frames, so its still possible but I'd say it'll all be over early this evening, no 12.30 am cliff hanger I'm afraid!

    Mike.

Unbelievable snooker from Ken this year.

    G'WAN KEN!!

 How does he do it? He's freaked Williams out a bit! First 4 frames have gone 2 a piece so its 14-14
    and it could be a midnight black-ball finnish....ah memories of '85 :D

    Mike.

16-14 Williams, tis testicle tightening stuff

    16-16 , :D , it's a great final..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 958 ✭✭✭Mark

Mark Williams is the winner with an 18-16 victory over our Ken, having scored a class break to take it no bother in the last frame.

Unfortunately meh prediction proved correct (:()but at least Williams was a very sporting winner and Ken still got a fairly hefty paycheck.

One of the best finals I've ever seen and great sportsmanship all round.

Ken-->A brilliant go and well worthy of the final (though oh God how I wished he should have won)

Ah well, you can only make so many amazing comebacks.
Dennis Taylor (I think) said Williams has won the championship, Doherty has won the tournament. Very true I think.

    Mike.
