The perfect Gateway Quake2 machine

So here's the spec I think I'll buy on Thursday:
p2-333
64mb
8.4gb HD (IBM 512k, 9.5ms, 5400rpm)
17"
STB Velocity AGP (Have new drivers)
7W Altec Lansing GCS1000 speakers

What do you guys think of this spec for games like quake1/2, unreal, TA etc?

u wont have any probs riker,

i have a P2 233, 64MB, 21" and all games fly on it, even unreal which was made for GL.

Unreal doesnt use GL, AFAIK, it is native glide or D3D.

Isn't there a PII-400 bundle out for about IR£2K ?

Everything but the graphics system is cool. If you want
it to be even vaguely future-proof for high-end games, go
for a dedicated 3D-accelerator, at the moment, a 12MB Voodoo2
is what ya want. :P 200 quid for the MaxiGamer, of 160 quid for
the 8MB version.

Ha suck on it, Daddys getting me a PII 400 me thinks . The gateway200 one. Kickin. Just have to buy a Voodoo 2 card now.

That sounds just like my system except mine is a Dell. Its dead fast and has no problem running the likes of UNREAL with the STB Velocity 128 AGP as its graphics engine. You wouldn't go far wrong if u got an extra 64megs of ram, Windows would be very gratefull

Isn't there a patch due out for default OpenGL for cards that dont have the 3Dfx chipset ? ie. Riva 128
