The last 2 'characters' in BB have been evicted. The show in now a non-entity.

I was just reading the forums over on digitalspy. There is absolute war over the unfair editing. On Thursday night, Cameron showed a real nasty vicious streak towards Jon (saying he would like to grab him by the throat and punch his face to the back of his head). He also threatened to shit in his shoes and piss in his showergel. He also (allegedly) put his hand down the front of Nush's trousers....

NONE of this was shown on BB or BBLB. Jon was 12/1 to be evicted last night. Every single online poll without exception had Fed and Cam evicted.

If this footage had been shown, it would have been a certainty.

There are equal calls that the poll was rigged, and that the editing was unfairly biased.

Davina is also going to get some hatemail.... During the interview, she showed Fed the footage where the girls said his 'winky' was tiny, and then challenged him to prove that it wasn't! What a bitch..... that kind of thing could scar him....

On a side note, the Sun are reporting a crossover with African BB tonight. 2 housemates will be chosen to do a test. The winner will be called into the diary room and told that they are leaving! They'll be whisked off to Johannesburg to take part in the South African BB.... Meanwhile, a similar test will be done down there, and the winner will be sent up to the UK BB, to arrive on Monday. Bear in mind that this appeared in the Sun, so take it with a HUGE pinch of salt.

    - Dave.

I agree with you about the show having lost the last two remaining characters TmB. The people left are people who are only interested in playing the game politically. All the people evicted so far (apart from anoushka and justine) have been people who have played it much straighter and been themselves. Fed and Jon were classic examples of this.

Unfortunatly i cant believe that BB rigged the poll for these very reasons. BB WANTS people like this to stay in because they make for great television. BB ALWAYS edits unfairly, its in the very principle of the show. Read Ben Elton's Dead Famous for some extreme examples of it.

They now have a very big problem on thier hands. The show is rapidly becoming the most boring programme on television. There is defintly something up tonight, whether its the s. african thing remains to be seen (The Sun were suggesting that Kate would be put back into the house, so its not like they are the oracle of delphi)

That's the name of the game. After all, you could have made a study in itself into the way Jade last year was edited in bad way then switched to appear as a flawed but redeemable character just before it looked like she was going to be evicted. The only way to avoid this treatment is to act like Gos, Scott and Nush and give the editors ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to work with in the first place.

I doubt it. Jon was doomed as soon as they made it a double eviction.

I don't believe the polls were rigged but I do believe last nights 'two out' scenario was put in place to encourage the outcome that eventually arrived.

Yeah I agree and what makes it worse is that she previously revealed to Dermot O'Leary that she ALWAYS tells evictees just before their interview to relax and not to worry about the questions, that she isn't going to try embarrass them during the interview. Presumable Fed got this same routine from her?

To be fair, the small dick question was obviously the tail-end of a loaded question because she asked it straight after he didn't retract his 'slags' comment. But come on? Does half-jokingly insulting a group of women (rather than an individual) really equate to publicly humiliating a guy on TV with his family sitting 10 feet away?

Comments about Newcastle women will come and go (and I've met some cool, refined and FINE Geordie lass's btw) but **** like that will haunt him for the rest of his days! I said earlier on this thread that they wouldn't be done with Fed until they got their pound of flesh and it looks like I was right.

It was clear from Feds reaction to the question that he was mortified and didn't want to answer the accusations. Davina is a soulless ****ing 'company-man' and I hope she gets a bit of grief over the incident. If she had half a brain and even a shred of decency she would have told whoever put her up to asking it to go to hell.

Anyway, the whole thing has left a sour taste in my mouth (pardon the pun :)) and that unsavory grilling (along with the only two remaining 'reactionary' characters being evicted) is making me strongly consider whether to watch the rest of BB4 or not.

I'd say what happened was this - it's just a theory so bare with me.. Some clever clogs in england (or ireland for that matter) decided to make some money.. They put £50000 or so on Jon to be evicted at 12/1.. and then spent £1000's on txts and phone calls voting him out.. I'm sure they could do this and still make a healthy profit.. There's no limit to the amount of times you can vote..

The polls did show who the general public wanted out.. the people who vote once or twice for who they want evicted.. not the big boys who make 1000's of phone calls/txts..

    Any thoughts?

Interesting theory..... I wish *I* had put €50,000 on Jon! Even €100 or €200....

ALL the polls had Fed and Cam out.

I think you're grasping at straws there mate tbh.

The only theory you should care about is the theory that the bookies got their numbers wrong. From day one of this show they've been calculating their eviction odds based on the premise of only person being evicted per voting session (not two or more). They'll learn from this lesson and if a two-out eviction ever arises agains they'll be ready for it.

You should have taken my advise and cleaned up on the one-time opportunity. I know I did. :)

The rumours yesterday were right. Cam is the lucky housemate heading off to BBA (Big Brother Africa). He is only going for one week (to return on Friday). He is exempt from being nominated for 2 weeks (but he still has to make his nominations).

A member of the BBA group will be flying up to join the BBUK group (probably also for a week).

E4 are showing a special BBA highlights show at 9:30 every night this week, with a full recap show next Saturday night.

Another rumour is that Anouska will be rejoining the house. The Sunday papers are reporting that they got this from an inside source. The rumour is strengthened by the fact that she wasn't at the eviction show on Friday.......

BB need to pull out all the stops since the eviction on Friday, and they're making a good stab at it!

And isn't it SUCH A COINCIDENCE Orkney lad Cameron was selected, BY CHANCE lest we forget for this African adventure? BB4 is the most contrived, pre-meditated pap on TV right now. Back to Basics reality TV my arse...

Heh.. just noticed that all BB betting has been removed from Paddy Power's website. Did they get burnt on Friday with Jon? Or is the outcome a foregone conclusion?

Eh, not really. The housemates had to choose which two to do the challenge. Cameron won. Therefore Cameron was sent off.

Pretty nifty twist tbh :) Look fwd to seeing what comes of it all.

    It is what it's.

BB's new housemate is Gaetano Kagwa. He'll be joining tomorrow morning live on E4. He is well known in BBA for getting horizontal with a fellow contestant called Abby....

Should be an interesting week... :p:p

If there was any justic, they would live Cameron in SA!

Just seen the new guy come in, Steph's eyes were out on stalks :D

Still, my interest in BB4 is waning now!

Gae is already on his 3rd beer, and there is some serious flirting happening with Nush....

    Could be an interesting week!

I have only watched about 20 minutes of this whole series until today but I think introducing a new person is a very clever idea. But they could have done it better.
They could have had the scottish guy walk into the toilets or something after telling the group that he would be back in a few minutes. After a few hours locked inside they would start to get suspicious and eventually worried.Meanwhile he has been sneaked out a window or secret door in the bathroom. When they get in and cant find him Big Brother sends in people in police and forensic uniforms and let it go on for a few days until they have been convinced that there is some bermuda triangle force at work in there.
Then BB takes out a second housemate and sends the cops and experts back in and the housemates are scared sh1tless.

But to me it doesnt appear to be any more boring as any other series. Then again I barely watched any of them.

Tania, Steph and Nush are all nominated this week...

I know Tania is the most likely for Friday night, but it could be close... Steph is pretty boring, and Nush is... well... Nush!

Apparently Ray was given his first warning by Big Brother last night - I don't know what happened though :(

And apparently Gae made Tania cry by comparing her to a "piggy". The man is a legend in my book already ;)

    Hopefully Tania will go out!

A TV regulator has received a wave of complaints about a reference to the size of Big Brother contestant Federico’s “manhood”. The Independent Television Commission said so far there had been 60 complaints about Davina McCall’s interview following Fed’s eviction. Her questioning on the Channel 4 Friday night show followed a discussion among the girls in the house about his size.

A spokeswoman for the ITC said the complaints would be investigated to see if the item broke TV rules. She added that the volume of complaints about the issue may have been the result of a campaign. There have only been 85 complaints about the series until now.
LOL.... It'd be nice to see Davina getting in trouble.... :p

Last nights piggy comments sound like fun. Looking forward to seeing them. I think Ray was disciplined for not going to the D.R. when called.... (they were all langers last night!)

    Arrgh no.

Tania and Ray are now the most "interesting" people there by process of elimination.

Tania is difficult, moody and fairly sexy and ray clearly wants to get into her brenda frickers. All of this = good television (well, better than nush giggling anyway)

Steph contributes a sum total of 0 to the interest factor. Apart from the comedy accent she seems to have nothing to offer and would go if there was any justice (This goes for gos too)

But do we want to see what is inside Tania's "brenda frickers". If I want to see a railway tunnel I'll look out my bedroom window ;)

Steph and Gos could easily go and not be missed, I'll agree on that though!

Nah i hope that they get rid of steph, and leave cameron in s-africa and leave Gae in the house to stir up some more **** to make it a bit more interesting. :D

I think it will be tania, especially after Piggygate - her little "performance" in the bedroom (OTT doesn't come close to describing it) was the final nail in her coffin methinks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

If she is evicted, I think the posters in the crowd on Friday could be funny (pics of piggies, etc.!)

I hear Cam lost the head last night with Abby in Big Brother Africa (red face, shouting, bulging eyes - he pretty much went psycho!)

Weekly task today.... they've bet 95% of their budget (leaving enough for toilet roll!). If they fail, they'll be bloody miserable next week.......

US Big Brother to be screened here
    26/06/2003 - 2:46:23 pm

Channel 4 bosses are to offer round-the-clock coverage of the US version of Big Brother on digital channel E4, it was announced today.

The station will carry highlight shows and evictions from the American version of the reality series 24 hours after they are broadcast across the Atlantic.

And it will stream action from the house “as live” 16 hours after it happens from July 26.

It follows the success of screening Big Brother South Africa this week, which saw one million viewers tuning in.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28,128 ✭✭✭✭Mossy Monk

it doesn't surprise me all that much. any time that a show in the UK gets done in the US someone always seems to pick it up. think Pop Idol, I'm A Celebrity etc. it surely can't be as boring as what is going on in the British version

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,924 ✭✭✭✭BuffyBot

And now that Gae is gone, BBUK just gets duller...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,177 ✭✭✭oneweb

The Big Producers must be crying themselves to sleep every night. Whereas the twist was much needed, I don't think it was as remarkable as it was anticipated to be.

They need a brewery's worth of alcohol before anything mad at all will happen.

Anyway - Nush to go tomorrow.

    It is what it's.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,322 ✭✭✭Repli

    Tanias definitely going..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,046 ✭✭✭Dustaz

yeh looks like its tania going alright. Let the yawnfest continue.

If the Great Brittish Public continue at this rate the evictions will be:

    Tania
    Ray
    Nush
    Scott

leaving Steph and Gos to BORE US TO TEARS.

I've seen about 5 minutes of Big Brother this year. 5 minutes too many tbh.

Yeh, its hard to get out of the habit of watching it now. However, im not tuning in as readily as i was and im betting this will be reflected in the viewing figures and voting revenue as people get turned off by the people this year.

Apparently, Gae is telling all his mates back in South Africa that he had Nush in the bathroom. He's saying that they could avoid the cameras in there, but Channel 4 says it's all rubbish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭p.pete

It kind of has to be rubbish if they had to go to the effort of dragging a duvet to the toilet to spank the monkey in privacy. I really don't see how the cameras wouldn't at least be able to pick up the fact that they were both in the blind spot if there was one.
