This was in the Independant too, stupid lawyers

    Internet conviction

IN a closely watched case about controlling the
Internet, the former head of CompuServe Germany
was yesterday convicted of being an accessory in
the distribution of child pornography even though
prosecutors had argued at the end for his acquittal.

The case against Felix Somm had begun as an
attempt by prosecutors to hold Internet-access
providers responsible for the material they relay.

Munich district court convicted Somm, sentenced
him to two years probation and ordered him to pay
    £34,000 to charity.

I seen it on the news last night. Problem in good
ol' Deutschland is that ISP are held responsible
for what their users view and must take steps
to restrict/block access to dodgy sites....certain
newsgroups are blocked their - Quake II was going to
be banned there as well (or at least only aloud to be
    sold in a cutdown/censored version)

Remember our own internet laws came into effect their
recently - you can be nicked 'cause of dodgy pics
    in your cache.....
