    What sort of power booster?

The aerials are about 100 Euro ish to buy, mostly bought by WiFi link enthusists, not actually for MMDS, since the only MMDS with any clear channels is Analog, and a rubbish way to watch C4 or TV3 (if they are clear).

It is illegal to decode any of the analog scrambled or digital encrypted MMDS, as this is regarded as "cable tapping". However any channels Chorus / NTL are silly enough to transmit "clear" on the 2.5GHz (not cable), are technically fair game, no different to any other clear TV signal on the airways, if you are using your own gear.

It is also illegal to "boost" power of WiFi or video sender Transmitters. The "inbuilt" licence on those only applies to the existing 10mW or so power.

Higher power professional Wireless security gear or TV transmitters need a licence not available to general public (Two of the video sender channels on 2.4GHz can be used by Radio Amatuers at up to 20W on a non-interference basis).
