IDE card question

im pretty sure this should be fine, ill ask anyway. We all know about the limitation of hard drive capacity on older boards. Im guessing this is due to the combined system and onboard IDE BIOS limitation. If I use and add-in card, I take it I can use whatever capacity the card supports yes?
