Upgrade_Help

Well finally decided to upgrade but i'm not sure about some of the stuff i was thinking of buying(off komplett).

Was hoping some of ye could give me a few pointers in the rite direction. Also, do ye know of any good online guides to building your own socket A based computer. I think i've a fair idea of most things, but just in case i'd like to go through things carefully

Here's the stuff i was going to buy for now:



Asus A7N8X Deluxe/GD mainboard Socket A nForce2SPP, ATX, 1394, USB2.0, Dual LAN - €165

Corsair XMS3200LL DDR-DIMM 256MB PC3200 32Meg x 8, CAS 2-2-2-6-T1, 400MHz - €101 intend to get 256mbs more in about a month

Maxtor IDE ATA-133 120GB 7200RPM DiamondMax Plus 9 8 MB cache - €155

EKL Blade Papst Bundle Socket A CPU and case fan - AMD XP3000+ - €33

I'm not sure whether to get a Duron 1.3ghz €44 for a month or two until i can afford 3000XP or to get a 2600XP now or something similar. I'd like to get the 3000XP. I'm goin to use my current gfx card: Ti4200 128mb and sound: SB Audigy Player. This computer will be used mosly for gaming. Any help/suggestions appreciated!

to regards with the case i would spend an extra 30 euros or so and get the alluminium case keeps the contents cooler

Would get second stick of ram straight away though, in case you can't get identical stick next month. Also you might consider going for 2*512. Wouldn't go for the XP3000 and certainly not for the Duron as a stop-gap. Why not go for the ever so cheap XP2500 Barton? Sound on the nforce2 is grand, but you might want to go all the way and get the audigy2 + compatible speakers (like the creative 6700). I own this last couple and it is like a sound marriage made in heaven. Anyway m8, good luck with your new rig!

I cant afford to wait and save any longer u c.
I'll probably get a 512mb stick for now, along with the rest of the parts except for a cpu, ill hold off on that for a few weeks.
I have to get the money out or ill end up spending it in the pub!
